The Press Gang - Halifax

This historic restaurant is located below street level. Its vernacular has a cool rustic tavern ambiance. The service was friendly and efficient. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and gave great recommendations. The food was delicious, and the menu varied. The pub was very cool and well stocked.

Absolutely a must to go to while in Halifax food is outstanding and service is excellent

I made a reservation through OpenTable.ca and It turned out to be a lovely dinner with my 2 adult sons to have a small celebration for my youngest son’s birthday. We all liked the foods, beverages, ambiance and services. Although we came 30 mins late but our table was still being kept for us and to end our dinner we had a small cake and a candle for my son to make a birthday wish as per my request. Very good and professional service everyone would love to have in a restaurant. One thing I have to remind myself for the future is to book a table about a month or more in advance for a special occasion. But we’ll come back for casual dinner next time for sure. I highly recommend the Press Gang restaurant for a romantic dinner as a couple or a group dinner party and a family gathering. Thank you for reading.

It was very hot if you sat to the right side of the entrance doors as ceiling low and uncomfortable Waiter was fantastic Good was good

Appetizers were very good. Main course was average and nothing special, some additional attention to detail would help (for example side potatoes for main were over cooked). Service is great. Next time will order mainly appetizers.
