The heated patio was nice, the service in terms of seating, greeting and getting people to there table was a bit disorganized. Several groups began to pile up outside the door and just standing around in the patio section. The food was pretty good. It wasn’t bad but the descriptions and the taste were not on par. It lacked some seasoning. Props to the menu, enough selection and variety to accommodate differing palates, nice Mac n Cheese selection if you’re into that. Overall our evening was nice food was fair. Still worth a stop by if you’re in the neighborhood, they also have a rooftop patio a few steps away and the beer gardens down by the waterfront which is nice. Stopped in with work friends while visiting halifax. Great spot to relax, eat some good food and try some drinks. Great atmosphere, music is not too loud, easy to carry on a conversation. Staff was very friendly and helpful when selecting meal options. We have some dip, Mac and cheese, pizza and grill cheese. All were great!
Great environment and plate setting! Unfortunately that 's where the positives end, if only the food tasted as good as it looked. We really wanted to enjoy this place as it was one of our final stops on our trip. We waited an hour for two dishes lobster benedict and a froyo french toast. Apparently they delivered our food to another table? The lobster benedict explicitly says it is a soft poached egg, ours came out hardboiled (refer to photograph); a far cry from the advertised soft boiled. The dish was completely cold, were pretty sure it was just sitting there after it was ready to be served and there was lint on one of the eggs. The French toast was bland, the yogurt they used didn 't complement the toast at all. No maple syrup accompanied the dish but that may have been by design, but it would 've helped considering it tasted like plain yogurt, plain bread and dried oats. We would have expressed our disappointment to the server but an hour wait for our unsatisfactory food was enough time wasted. The lack of respect for our time was unacceptable and if you refer to my other reviews I give out positive reviews like candy.
We came to the Stubborn Goat Gastropub for lunch a little over a month ago. The place wasn’t busy so, we just walked in and sat on the patio. We had several drinks along with food. We ordered the BEEF TARTARE, LOBSTER MAC N' CHEESE and MUSHROOM ONION BACON BURGER with GYROS POUTINE. Overall, the food was very tasty, rich and quite filling. Also, our waitress was very nice and attentive.
Started with the roasted Brussels sprouts, excellent. Mac and cheese was a lighter version of cheese, wasn't that cheezy, but a different creation, pizza was average and small in size with light toppings, atmosphere was good upstairs and downstairs, service was good. Comfortable ambiance.
