The menu had a wide variety of delicious options at fair prices. The restaurant was impressively clean and stylish. Kudos to the team and management for a job well done.
My wife and I recently enjoyed the most delicious fish and chips and scampi and chips we have had in a long time. The fish was incredibly fresh and the scampi was juicy. The batter was light and crispy, without any greasy residue often found in other pub and chippy locations. The chips were superb, and the service and atmosphere were excellent. Despite being very busy, the food was prepared quickly, in under 10 minutes. We also found the beds on the adjacent furniture floor to be excellent, and ended up purchasing one. This experience has made us believe that any negative reviews are the exception rather than the rule at this establishment.
The flat white I ordered was terrible. It was lukewarm and had no taste whatsoever. I was very disappointed, especially considering the £3.50 price tag. The staff really need to improve their barista skills. I would recommend trying other restaurants in Northallerton instead.
Had probably the worst salad ever. It reminded me of a fifties cafe. Horrible coleslaw and prawns in a ghastly mayonnaise. Lettuce, chopped tomatoes and cucumber. Oil but no discernible taste of dressing. Inedible!
Great system for reserving a table first, especially if you are alone. Reasonably quick service at till. Homemade soup disappointing. Very glutinous. Did complain and I was assured it was not pre-fabricated but couldn't recommend soup I'm afraid. Prices beyond reasonable compared to current trends.
