The vegetarian main course (beet consisted of thumb-sized pieces of red and yellow beetroot, which were boiled down and then drowned in a yogurt sauce dressed with oriental spices. I can do that at home, too. And cheaper than 26 EUR in any case. The outstanding achievement of creating a flavorful explosion from a vegetable was completely missed here. My companion had more luck with the sea bass for 36 EUR, but the presentation (ragout in pastry? left much to be desired. Packaging-wise, unfortunately, the beef tartare in an old puff pastry was also a disappointment. The open wines are quite expensive as the 0.15l comes at about 10 EUR per glass (or 50 EUR per bottle . There are a few parallels from open wines to the staff: They are present, because it is expected of them, they try, but still do not make the right connection with the guest. It's as if everything here is expected to cost a lot of money and doesn't want to match the rest of the city's top gastronomy, because you simply don't have to. After all, even if my address was Isekai 2, I’d rather order Sushi than eating here again.
It wasn't terrible. The location is nice. Some dishes were also very nice. I don't like the attitude of the staff. And most of all, I don't like the prices. For the food offered a very small selection of rather uninteresting dishes; I really didn't know what to order it's way overpriced. Ditto, the wines. I can get better food for half the price in Hamburg.
The staff, extremely attentive. The food was really good. The presentation on the plate excellent. The location and the ambiance just right. Definitely a place to eat at. They have a great veranda which looks over the Furtbek river.
The terrace is quiet and chill, mostly because of the neighborhood. Everything we ordered was basic, but tasty and well cooked. The waiters were welcoming and quick.
On our way from Hamburg airport to the coast, we stopped for dinner at this cozy restaurant. Part of a tennis club, it 's situated in a relatively uninteresting suburb of Hamburg. The food: clearly inspired by the region and season, and very well prepared, without much fuss. For example the Strammer Max was very nice interpretation of a German classic, but served elegantly with small prawns, again somewhat typical for the region. Beetroot soup, roastbeef, etc. all very nicely prepared. The service: very professional, yet somewhat relaxed. Exactly how we like it. Worth noting the place is child friendly, i.e. they have baby chairs, even a kid 's corner with toys, and the staff is friendly when it comes to kids. We will certainly be back.
