We visited here lured by all the tasty treats on display, my main problem was which to choose! Both had a filled roll with salad, mine a pretzel type bread with good size portion of brie, partner with ham and pineapple in his, great hot coffee and the best bienenstiche cake I have had for years...gorgeous, pleasant helpful staff who spoe in English to me, lots of beggars outside though...I found this out when I visited on my own the following day , when I had got my tray I sat outside and was approached by a german in a wheelchair asking that I buy him coffee. To be honest I probably would have done, but his manner was really intimidating, he then kept shouting at me calling me a 'rich English lady, you rich English b***h!' .trust me , I am definitely not either, but this did scare me and ruined my experience at this lovely cafe

This is a good place to rub shoulders with the Hamburgers and pause for a coffee or any kind of a drink, a cake or a sandwich. At lunchtime, try the Pastastation where you can get your favourite pasta to order. Costs only 6.50 Euros to eat in or take away. Culture shock-horror for Brits - the Germans clean up after themselves! You find clean tables as the people put their used stuff in the racks provided so it's polite to do the same. Good food, efficient service, eat in or take away: it is nice in the summer when you can sit outside and watch the world go by in this great city.
