I worked in Hamden for 18 years, just up the road from this restaurant that used to be called Thai Awesome. I always enjoyed the food there, so I was initially worried when I saw the name change, thinking it had new owners and wouldn't be as good. I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was even better! The Tom Yum soup with shrimp had just the right amount of spice and lemongrass, giving it a flavorful kick. We also tried the fresh spring rolls with a delicious fish soy sauce that perfectly complemented the crunch of lettuce, basil, and shrimp. My boyfriend ordered the crispy duck with fresh vegetables and it was cooked perfectly. As for me, I had the beef drunken noodles, which were perfectly spiced and the beef was fresh and flavorful. I love Thai cuisine and appreciate the authenticity and freshness of Thai Smile's food. I highly recommend checking it out for lunch or dinner.
