Born And Raised Restaurant - Hamilton

I visited this establishment back in the summer with a couple friends on a Friday night.

The only thing that saves this from 1 star is that some of the food was pretty okay Long story short, we had absolutely terrible service.

Monday morning past I was unknowingly speaking to a partner in this Hamilton eatery in between sets at the gym.

Party of three stopped in for dinner, no reservations but was able to sit at the bar for a very long time before being seated. We were seated and was not given a menu or service for at least 20 minutes ( we asked for service.) They did apologize and we subsequently ended up with 3 different servers. Food was tasty however a bit high priced for what it was. The menu was small but that's not always a bad thing. The atmosphere was hopping but it was difficult to hear our conversation. Will probably not go back.

We had reservations for four people at 6:30, and, arriving on time, were promptly seated. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with tantalizing aromas from the wood oven making our first impressions very positive. Vanessa provided exceptionally professional, knowledgeable and friendly service the whole time we were there. Our appetizers, main courses and desserts were delicious. Kudos to the kitchen for our tasty, well-prepaired and presented meals. The wine selections were varied and well-priced. Knowing that the table was to be turned at 8:30 - we specifically asked on being seated - we finished our meal, paid and were just getting ready to leave, in fact one of the party were in the restroom, when, sadly, a manager felt it necessary to come to the table to inform us that the next party was already waiting. Rather than asking us if we had enjoyed our meal, or thanking us for our visit, he told us it was time to leave. The time? 8:24. I checked. Had he waited perhaps ninety seconds more we would have been gone and completely satisfied with our excellent experience. Instead, we left feeling rushed out the door. I don't know the manager's name, but had he checked with the server, he would have known we were paid up and ready to leave.
