When asked what is in this dish, waitress says "look at picture" in limited English. But we forgive her. We realize everyone else has the typical tea served as soon as they are seated, we don't. We order pho, we receive no Brussel sprout dish with raw veggies as typically served, but others are. No cutlery for us folks who do not use chop sticks, no asking is everything okay, do you need another drink, etc. When we confronted the server about the lack of proper service she responded with "when we are busy it is inconvenient for us". Then when we finally pay, no credit cards accepted. Food is okay, but service is terrible. First and last time for us....prices are not as cheap as others state. Our visit was Feb. 2017.
We just went there tonight. This small restaurant is tucked in the corner of a mall anchored by Golftown. Take a booth and order from the quite extensive Thai menu. Then pick up your fork or chop sticks and almost instantly your steaming meal is placed in front of you. It is unbelievable that they can serve such high quality food so quickly. Fast food joints would be scratching their head. Excellent portions and the size of their soups will not leave anyone wanting. Debit or cash only. The atmosphere is quite good but could be improved by dimming the lights just a bit.
Came here on a Friday night around 6pm and we were lucky to get a table. Service was prompt and they took our orders quickly. We decided to try the beef pho. The small was a very reasonable size and it was very well priced. We shared the cold Spring rolls which were quite large and a bargain at 3.99. They brought us bean sprouts, Thai basil, limes and Chilis. The rare beef pho came pipping hot and and beef cooked in the hot broth. Everything was good and we paid 15 each with tax and tip. The pad thai looked fantastic and I would give it a try next time.
This place is tucked away in the corner of the plaza, and isn't much to look at inside, but it is certainly worth a visit. The menu and selections offered at Royal Pho is very good. We enjoyed a very good lunch of Royal Seafood Pad Thai and Stir Fried Eggplant between two people. This was more than enough to share, and the flavours were very good. We also asked for a Lime Juice with club soda, but it was very sweet - full of sugar - so we asked for them to make it again without the sugar. They did so immediately, and it was much more to our taste. I don't want to drink a kiddies sweet soda with my lunch. We were also given a pot of jasmine tea with our meal which was excellent.it was our first visit to Royal Pho, but we will be back to try some of the other dishes on the menu.
You have to know the menu well to have a reasonable chance of getting a good meal1 in 3 attempts resulted in a meal I enjoyedNo fault of the restaurant, I'm sure I got what I ordered! Ask if you order by phone !!!
