Smokes Poutinerie - Hamilton

Was so stoked for a long time to try this. But when I finally got the chance, was very underwhelmed. Had the bacon cheeseburger type poutine. Burger and bacon very dried out, barely any cheese sauce, and basic poutine, curds, gravy and fries, were merely ok. It was expensive, understaffed, 2 guys during a dinner, felt bad for them, would not go back

I was visiting a friend in Hamilton, and when I told her and her friends I'd never had poutine before (I'm British) we all went straight to Smokes. I got the classic, but the range of stuff you could get on your poutine was impressive! Overall, a memorable first time for me!

Have been to a number of locations and it never disappoints, all locations are clean and friendly service. Sante fe!

Tasty poutine, however gravy was a little salty. Nice enough service. Ambience is a little lacking. All in all its fine for a poutine restaurant. Not sure I would go back in a hurry, but my fourteen year old kid would in a heart beat!

Went here to finally use a gift card I had for a few years. Problem with card and staff handled the situation very well we place our order, then another couple comes in, then two females come in.Guy drops order in front of us at our table and leaves, problem is it's not our order, so we give it to the couple. Then the two women get their order and we wait and wait. We explain to the guy he gave us the wrong order and ask about ours - I think this is when they started making our order. We got the large size which is huge, the two of us could not eat it all. The value is good considering portion size but the taste was just okay. We may return to try another menu option, and hope for better service, but if they strike out again we will be done here, which is too bad because we love poutine.
