I walked in here on march 21; at 1.23 pm on March 21 there was a new moon in Aries which was pegged as “the beginning of a new year” , signalling a break from the past and a push into the future. I was tired of the trendier 112 king spot, it was much smaller and often had no crowd, many homeless people and didn’t feel cool. similarly #158 Locke had worn itself thin and was played out with fewer seating post covid. The service was good and they even handed out complimentary lemon cake and oat bar samples to each customer, as well as a sample coffee blend. The oat bar won out on overall flavour (I was surprised as the cake seemed richer). When i asked about the new coffee blend, they said they never brew it in house, they just sell it. It tasted bad, sour. The vibe was extremely grey, and dour, with some locals from the north end speaking in various dialects. then some business types walked in talking about corner offices on the other side of town. I had a lot more space here but there were no scenesters. The business guy said something like “thanks for keeping it real guys” and at one point one interesting looking girl with different coloured streaks in her hair walked through and ordered something to go, she seemed to be living it up : living her best life by Hamilton standards and that was the only highlight. I got some work done and left. I asked the matrix to flash forward to 2029 and a woman with kids started talking about straws and juice boxes. Here are some photos. The business guy also looked at me before leaving and made a disparaging comment about how “some people never make it.” Overall, 3.5 if I can GEt my hair dyed.
Waited 15 mins for a drink only 2 people in like 1 in front 1 behind the guy behind me gets his drink 5 mins before and it’s not busy no people in the drive through but the workers are just talking and complaining and swearing on the job not even paying any attention to the orders cuz the messed up and wasted drinks and just kept swearing about it the only nice person there was the new guyOn top of that the food counter was filled with flies 100’s of them flying around everywhere
I work in a building near this Starbucks location and I've waited to provide this review because I believe in 2nd, 3rd, and even 4th chances. I am a long time Starbucks customer and have visited many locations in North America and Europe. Unfortunately, this Starbucks is the worst! and I don't say this lightly as I've consistently evaluated the service at this location for the past year. My usual order is simple, coffee, with cream, it's not a difficult order nor am I a difficult person to please. The reason for my 1 star starts with their consistent inability to provide coffee with cream. I've had two times where the coffee is literally 50% cream resulting in a cold and undrinkable mess, and other times where the coffee has no cream and is still cold. When the coffee is warm there are frequent errors with getting me the size that I've ordered or filling the cup to a reasonable level. I've been quite patient with this location, and friendly if I'm raising awareness of their error. This brings me to the main issue being the complete lack of customer service and the poor attitudes of the staff at this location. Most other Starbucks locations have friendly and accommodating staff, at this location, they roll their eyes, talk down to you, and generally treat you like you are an inconvenience. I believe a good first start would be to ensure every customer is made to feel welcome on a basic level.
Just went and paid 7.20 for a large cappachino. I get back to my office desk and its only half full. Guess im going out of my way to go literally anywhere else. Unbelievable to pay that much for barely anything
