We were looking for a local restaurant to buy samosas. Found the Himalaya online - it had good reviews. Tried it for ourselves (take-out), and loved it! The place is not fancy but the samosas, in our opinion, are fantastic. The owner/staff (not sure which) who served us were very friendly and added a few extra items to our order without mentioning it - found these when we got home. Just shows they appreciate new customers - and we appreciate both that and their delicious samosas and sweets! We'll definately be back!
I am a big meat eater but this place gets me whenever I want to taste what a really good vegetarian food. Channa Bhatura, Achari Paneer and samosas are must try.
Wherever we travel, we would try Indian food. The Himalayan in this strip plaza on Centennial Pky N. surprising beats all the Indian restaurants we've been in places we've been in Toronto (little Indian), NY, Ann Arbour, Columbus. in our opinion.Sure bet for vegetarians and vegans, and people not having to have meat every meal. Their Thali offers well balanced protein and vegetables along with rice and roti, always a treat to your palate. The color combination and the range of dishes you get on the Thali also enhance your eating experience every single time. Very reasonable price. Samosas at $0.5/pc, sweets by pound. They offered their Thali for many many years at only $7 and this spring, after the dramatic increase in food price, they have only increased it to $8. One thing can be said about the owners, they are not greedy. The portion of the food has been consistent for as long as we have been going. My kids love this place and named it their favorite restaurant
I ordered channey bhature and Masala tea from this place yesterday. Masala tea was so bad and disgusting it was feeling like just a boiled water with minimum amount of milk and there wasn’t any taste of masala tea in that and no sugar as well. As i asked them to put sugar in that. Then the channa bhatura was totally a disaster. The bhature was fried in some bad oil that it had all the blackness of burned oil on it. And channe was like a curry with no taste. I literally fell sick i suffered from vomiting and stomach ache afterwards. I don’t recommend this restaurant at all.
