My husband and I always joke that a good Chinese restaurant should have Chinese menus, chopsticks, and lots of Chinese customers, and this place did not disappoint in that aspect. Despite its unassuming exterior, the inside of the restaurant was surprisingly nice and charming. The menu offered a wide variety of options to choose from, and even though I was not feeling well, I decided to try their handmade noodle soup with chicken. The soup was delicious, but I was a bit annoyed that the chicken still had the skin on and was attached to the bone, making it inconvenient to eat with just a spoon. However, my husband enjoyed his beef and vegetable dish, which was spiced to his liking. Overall, the food was good and the prices were very reasonable for the generous portions served. I would definitely come back again, although I might opt for a different soup next time. The noodles were particularly tasty, and I am looking forward to trying more dishes on their menu.
Wow, this restaurant is fantastic! They serve authentic Sichuan cuisine at affordable prices. The only drawback is that there may be a wait for a table. However, my party of four only had to wait about 30 minutes to be seated at 6:30pm, which wasn't too long in my opinion. The E-1 Spicy Fish, Mapo Tofu, and Dan Dan hand-shaven noodles were all delicious. The marinated cucumbers in garlic also helped to cool down my mouth after the spicy dishes.
I ordered homemade steamed dumplings with pork and vegetables, pancakes with chives, and noodles with pork and cabbage. They were all very authentic and delicious. The owner mentioned that their fish head soup was a signature dish. The restaurant was filled with local Chinese customers, and we were glad we picked this place. In Hamilton city center, a quarter of the restaurants are Chinese, offering plenty of options for Chinese food.
This is one of the best authentic Sichuan restaurants I have ever visited. Since moving to Tauranga, we always find a reason to go back to Hamilton just to dine here.
This restaurant is fantastic with delicious food. The staff are very helpful and friendly. We had a dine-in lunch and the price per person was around NZ$20–30. The food, service, and atmosphere all receive a 5 rating. Highly recommend trying the Pork Dumplings and Dumplings in Sichuan Style.
