Only to find that the upgrade was offsite at the “Villas.” And… if we wanted to come back to the main site, a shuttle would be provided. If we booked the hotel to stay on site, how was this to be an upgrade? We went to the villas and decided, again, that on site is where we wanted to be. On arriving back to the hotel, we were told that “it’s 1st come 1st serve and no rooms type is guaranteed, even with a confirmed reservation. Then it was confirmed, that we never had a room. The hotel was completely sold out. We were given a room on the ground floor. The room reeks of dog urine, is not clean and there is black mold in the ceiling outside our door. Now, we were told that we would receive an upgrade tomorrow morning. Lol. All of our interactions have been with management. Trip booked via thru American Express Travel. 1st and last trip. So very disappointed. Rooms: Room smells of dog urine.
Visited this place for wine tasting and lunch. Nice service, good environment with rows of grapevines.
Update. Came back 5 years later. 7 tastings is now $55 and there really needs to be a better cap on the number of people accepted because we had to stand in a line for ~15 minutes every time we wanted a new pour. It took over 3 hours to exhaust our 7 pours and that was doubling up on one pour. I would not come back unless they decreased the number of customers or increase the number of bartenders. Sometimes it was 4 doing pours and sometimes it was only 2. You came enjoy the wine if you are consistently thinking about how to get your next pour. We stopped by for the wine tour and tastings. The tour is $5 and the tastings are 7 for $25. The tour guide was nice but it was a lot of people on the tour and since the guide didn’t have a microphone, he was hard to hear at times. Alone this is not worth $5. The tasting part was awesome. The bartenders were busy but accommodating. We enjoyed the wines and felt like we got our money’s worth. I’d defiantly like to come back and see more one day.
We like to sit outside at the winery and enjoy the scenery and ambiance. We purchase red, white, and sparkling bottles of wine, relax, and sip the afternoon away. We do this three or four times a year. We enjoy dining at Patty's Pub (the best bread pudding w/signature sauce ever) and the Sunday Brunch buffet in the main dining room. Also, we have attended the St. Patrick's Day celebrations for several years. Nearby activities: Braselton is a delightful town with fun events, historical sites, an arboretum, and much more. Safety: A very safe area. Walkability: The grounds offer a lot to explore. Food drinks: The wine is very good and reasonably priced.
First and last time we are visiting this place, the criteria Price VS Value doesn’t match, the bathroom in our room was having a very bad sewage smell and bathroom exhaust fan was not working, we paid 520 usd per a room (breakfast not included, no acitivity included) which was not up to the standards, we let the front desk guy to know about the inconvenience but he didi’t do much, he didnt offer to add any complimentary activity or add on to at least make it better; the maintenance guy said “it was a problem with the toilet and it has to be fixed once the room is without guests”, at least one cup of wine at the testing room must be free for guest staying at the hotel but neither that happen, we are coming from east coast were we have experience real luxury and service and believe me this place doesn’t offer neither one. Rooms were clean and neat, unfortunately service was not up to the standards.
