Poke City - Hammond

The restaurant has a fantastic atmosphere, and the food was incredibly fresh. However, I found the ginger sauce I chose to be quite bland, which made my bowl lack flavor. Luckily, the fruits and vegetables were really fresh. I would definitely consider returning to try a different sauce. My husband felt that the portions were on the smaller side; he wanted me to ask for more of each ingredient, but I didn’t. We enjoy visiting poke places in every city we travel to across the United States, as poke is my favorite meal!

I have to say, this place is absolutely fantastic! I've visited twice and I love it so much that I’ll make sure to stop here every time I pass through Hammond. My favorite dish is the Tonkotsu ramen. The way they prepare the pork is incredibly tender; it practically melts in your mouth. The dish is truly impressive!

However, if you’re looking for a restaurant that elevates its dishes beyond their basic components, this might not be the place for you. There’s nothing wrong with that, but if you're in the mood for sushi and miso soup, you can easily find those at Nagoya nearby, or for Mexican, El Paso is also in town. Looking through the menu, I’d say the appeal lies in the variety and the careful selection of quality ingredients. I will mention that their teriyaki chicken is better than what you'll find at Nagoya and several other local spots. My only confusion comes from what exactly makes this Hawaiian cuisine, aside from the inclusion of pineapple in some dishes. That’s probably why I deducted a star. Overall, it feels more like a Hawaiian/Asian fusion restaurant with some Mexican influences sprinkled in.

Wow, what a pleasant surprise! This place is fantastic, and I will definitely be returning. I tried the ramen and pork belly buns, and although they took a bit longer than the poke dishes, they were among the best I’ve ever had. The food was really excellent. Everyone I was with also enjoyed their poke bowls.

Oh my gosh, it was so delicious! I ordered the make-your-own bowl with three proteins, and it was fantastic. Everything was just perfect. I would have taken a picture if I hadn't eaten it all first, haha! The portion size was generous and the price was great. They deliver through Uber Eats. My only minor complaint is that I couldn't order a boba smoothie, but I was still very satisfied with my meal. The spring rolls were really good too!
