Contribuisci feedbackDuring my first visit to this restaurant, I ordered the whistling platter, which consisted of three large pfeifenfilets, three sizable hush puppies, a generous portion of fries, and 4 oz of coleslaw. I was pleasantly surprised by the portion size for just $11. Everything was fresh and delicious. My only criticism would be the coleslaw; it was a bit bland and chopped a bit too finely. However, everything else was excellent. I will definitely return!
I had an oyster po' boy, and it was amazing! The oysters were crispy and flavorful, and the sandwich was over six inches long. However, it was quite large with the bread and oysters, making it a bit tricky to eat without everything spilling out.
A hidden gem! On my first visit, I ordered the flounder platter to take home. The chef/manager was incredibly polite and attentive, which made the experience even better. When I opened the Styrofoam container, I was pleasantly surprised: the fillets were beautifully cooked, large but not overly so, and fried to a perfect deep golden brown. There were enough French fries to feed a small army, and the hushpuppies were delicious as well. The batter on the fried items was tasty, though perhaps a bit crowded (not quite as good as my own!). Overall, it was a great meal, and I will definitely return!
Anthony’s seafood is my favorite go to spot for seafood consumption! They sell fried cocks (of the couple) and their boneless catfishes...WOW! eating is cooking to order, so it is always hot. they also sell Vietnamese food.
Man this food establishment is the best seafood spot in Newport News. Steam medium female crabs are $18 a dozen and they look like large females. Fried crabs the best in Newport News l travel across the MMT Monitor Merrimac Tunnel) to get the BEST.
