Baron Forrester - Hampton

The husband and I stayed in search of wines we had never tasted during our stay. It's such a brilliant little shop with real, friendly people. Links with some delicious wines and a great feeling. (Been researches Nigerian goats... I love you.

I loved being there and getting great advice, the story of the great Cheddar I bought. I was really inspired and made some brilliant garlic and Gruiyere Toasts, thank you:

My girlfriend and I randomly stopped in on a Friday afternoon after a quick Google search for coffee shops in the area, en route to Maine. We couldn't have had a better experience! As soon as we walked in, thinking we were getting coffee to go, we were invited to participate in their weekly free wine tasting. We sat down for an hour, trying a lovely selection of roses and a number of homemade complimentary snacks (red wine applesauce! , at which point we also enjoyed a coffee course and a complimentary tasting of all the cheeses in their cheese case. I loved the coffee poured on nitro, my girlfriend had an amazing blueberry tea latte (it tasted like a blueberry muffin , and we got to admire their beautiful, highest quality cold brew contraption. Co owner Sean was super knowledgeable about wines and gave us some useful information about how champagne is made. Co owner Julie is a baking goddess I want to go back to try her baguettes! Barista Grogan was so generous with samples and humor. It was fun to see the shop fill up with other regulars as the afternoon tasting went on. And they even helped us by lending tools for a quick car fix before we got back on the road. How exciting to have a small business in any town that exudes such care and craftsmanship. We'd give them 6 stars if we could!

Super friendly local wine shop. The wine selection is not huge but the wines are well chosen. Best part is that the owner bakes baguettes from scratch daily--they are amazing.

Great downtown Hampton spot to pick up some imported wines. Many to choose from. Also, check out their cheese selection as well as the Baggett loaf.
