I went for the first time yesterday and I’ll be the first one in the door when they open today. It takes a lot for me to leave a review, but the food was so amazing that I woke up this morning and had to give the chef(s) their credit. I ordered taco salad with chicken and shrimp- worth every single penny. Needless to say, I didn’t leave one crumb behind. I’m so excited to go back! Thank you for a great experience.
This is the second time I have been here, well worth the visit. Very small building so there might be a wait time especially on Wednesday nights, margarita night. Food is delicious, my husband got the 3 tacos with chips and salsa and i got the cuban with rice and beans. Delicious!!! Wait staff is very knowledgeable of the food, specials, greeted us as soon as we entered the door, offered us a drink if we had to wait and a menu so we could see the specials. I highly recommend this place, a lot of fun and you will not be sorry. Kinda pricy but the food speaks for itself. The people who run this, I believe run Dead Rise in Ft. Monroe. I just heard someone talking and we have been there as well and food is top notch there as well. Enjoy!
(we will definitely be back) drinks: margarita frozen rosé app: chips queso my order: taco trio with rice beans 2 falda tacos (brisket, red onions, chipotle mayo, cilantro) 1 camarón taco (blackened shrimp, corn salsa, queso fresco) his order: 4 tacos 1 falda 2 camarón 1 pescado (beer battered fish, jalapeño tarter, cabbage) *he loved the tortillas because they didn’t fall apart! con: the shrimp on either taco didn’t really taste blackened.
Our first time dinning at El Diablo. Glad we got there at opening. Within 30 minutes the place was jamming. Very unique menu a bit of South America meets Central America and the Tequila options are impressive to say the least. Our server, whom I suspected was one of the owners, was excellent. The tacos unlike any in the area, were fantastic. The queso and chips app was huge and really good. Other than one of my wife's tortillas beginning a bit singed we left stuffed and with leftovers. The Paella special looked amazing as did the seasoned roasted . We will definitely be back. As for the other folks that pish poshed them for their policies and procedures, clearly your used to Americanized tacos perhaps Tex Mex. I was in the restaurant business for years and have to say I think your way off base.
