Cowfish - Hampton Bays

For families with kids, Cowfish has a great feature—a dedicated play area with outdoor climbing structures, offering a fun way for little ones to expend some energy. This thoughtful addition definitely scored points in my book. However, when it came to the food and service, I was somewhat disappointed. We ordered a side of wedge salad, but the waiter brought us a full-sized portion instead. When I pointed out the error, the response was surprising; she insisted that she hadn’t heard our request and didn’t make any adjustments to the bill. This interaction was less than pleasant and affected our overall experience. Additionally, the oysters we ordered were underwhelming, as they didn’t taste particularly fresh. This only added to our disappointment in the meal and left us questioning if our expectations had been set too high when we first arrived at Cowfish. In summary, Cowfish excelled in ambiance and family-friendliness, but the food and service quality fell short. It’s unfortunate that our visit didn’t live up to the high expectations we had, and it left us with mixed feelings about returning in the future. Hopefully, they can resolve these issues and reach the potential their inviting atmosphere suggests.

Cowfish is a fantastic waterfront spot with a straightforward menu. The atmosphere is wonderful, though the prices are a bit on the high side, but hey, you are in the Hamptons. We enjoy going there just to soak in the ambiance, relax, and have a drink. Rating: Food: 3, Service: 4, Atmosphere: 5.

I decided to stop by on a whim, and it turned out to be the best meal I've had all summer. The Mojito was fantastic, and the waitstaff did an excellent job. I’ll definitely be returning with my family.

This is probably my favorite restaurant in Hampton Bays! I celebrated my birthday here with my family and had a wonderful experience. We tried to make reservations for Sunday, but it seemed they were fully booked through Resy. Luckily, my mom called, and the staff was incredibly sweet and accommodating, making a reservation for us. Our waitress was very kind and provided excellent recommendations. I was disappointed to find out that they had just sold out of their lobster rolls, so I will definitely need to return for one next time. I had a salmon dish with truffle mashed potatoes, and it was amazing! The spinach artichoke dip appetizer was also delicious. The menu is a bit on the pricey side, but for special occasions, I believe this restaurant is absolutely worth it.
