A few days ago in Hawaii. One of the things on the To-Do list was to find something fine. We found Hanalei Poke a few miles from our apartment at the northern end of Kauai. When we arrived in the early afternoon, there was still a healthy line that we took as a promising sign. I ordered the Hanalei Special Poke bowl on the recommendation of the other famous TV food (Triple D). The Special Poke scarf did not disappoint. The fish was very fresh and the bowl itself was very tasteful and well balanced. The only beef I have is the money. In addition to the posted price is an additional market price mark that makes for an expensive meal. I know that restaurants are all faced with costs that are not there control, but it was a bit difficult to justify the cost of the bowl on the portion size. (I'd take off 1/2 star if I could. If in the neighborhood, consider Hanalei Poke as it will be delicious, but will be prepared for sticker shock.
We ordered Kealia Poke and my goodness, the taste was so unique, but we could not stop eating after the first bite. Your Poke menu is so funny and the aromas are so amazing that the fish literally melted in our mouth. Probably the best Poke in Kauai! Pricey but for us it was worth it
Fresh and delicious poke dishes! We had the Hanalei Special and it was perfect. The portion size was just right and the spices were delicious. I recommend this Poke bowl with coconut water - it is like a taste of the island! This was our first meal at Ching Young Village and it was such an exciting meal.
Hanalei Poke is definitely worth the visit. After reading some of the reviews, I was hesitant to try it and have had little luck with food in Princeville outside of the food trucks. It blew past my expectation and is well worth the premium compared to other Poke restaurants. The owner sources the fish locally by himself and you can really tell a difference! The flavors are very unique as well using mango, mint, and watermelon to name a few. Also, a lot of reviews had me worried about having enough cash, they now accept credit cards so no need to worry. Give this place a go especially if you like poke and/or seafood.
