Kalypso Island Grill - HANALEI

Fast service and delicious food. We'll come at 4:30 when it's open. There are a long number of people flooding and we thought it would take hours to wait for food. But it was really fast. Eating is in large portions and I think it's worth the money. Parking is limited. This is a good place if you want to have a break and some rest.

A bit crowded, but it probably depends on the time of the day. We really enjoyed the quick lunch. Fast service, quickly served, what can you expect from a place like this? I highly recommend.

The drinks are fantastic! But the food is disappointing. The Tropical Shrimp Skewers were ok, but the name is a little confusing to see how it is served with rice and a ginger soy sauce. I introduced myself to tropical shrimp kewers, which were served with some fruit salads that might have been made from Guaava Mango and a sweet and tasty sauce, definitely not with rice and ginger sauce. The Ahi Tuna Calamari was disgusting; the Calamari was stale and the quid meat was soft, suggesting that it was old and probably could be frozen and the Ahi Tuna did not taste fresh. I had Safeway pot that tasted better than this Ahi Tuna, which really says something. The house of Ceviche was somewhat disappointing; the way the shrimps were prepared and the texture was good, but the taste was too simple. The Ceviche needs a little more salt and definitely a lime wedge on the side. The only reason this place got a 3 stars is because the bartender was very nice and makes fantastic drinks. Hopefully, some of this feedback goes back to the kitchen.

I think the quality in this place can be somewhat dependent on what you order, but we are very pleasantly surprised for the most part. The seat and service speed was very impressive in view of the muddy location. And the prices weren't so bad from a premium given there?s remote location. By far the best of all the dishes we had, the Mahi Mahi was filled with crab shrimps. Very recommended and what we all get a second chance. Overall, the more expensive entrees were much better than things like fish tacos that lacked a little. Do not expect fresh high-quality dishes with killer sides like the cold raider, when we settled, but everyone was satisfied with their meal also the burger. Oh yes, good beer prices for Happy Hour and the lava was also a pretty tasty drink.

Great hang out! Very fun bar with excellent food and service. Happy hour nachos large enough to feed at least 2. Also had a cup of seafood chowder, excellent with great flavor and plenty of seafood. Always fun meeting people at the bar. Highly recommend!
