That first experience here was significant for a number of reasons. Fortunately I got to see Kauai before hurricane Iniki hit the islands. Less than a year after my visit the most powerful hurricane to strike Kauai in recorded history wiped out a significant portion of its visible history. A lot of the destruction was on the north side of the island not far from here. Fortunately,32 years later I am able to roll into Tahiti Nui after a long hike on the Kalalau trail and order the same Mai Tai I had the first time.... predictability is good sometimes . I remember that rainy October day I 1981 when I sate on the porch looking at the mountains. An occasional car drove by and as I remember, only a few people in the place. Jump forward to 2023 and the area looks like an ant farm...traffic,people and all that comes with that. However, kudos to Tahiti Nui for holding its own and with only a couple of changes...it's same same as it has been for decades One of the good changes? The food may be better than ever. Ahi carpaccio, Coconut Crusted Ono, Coconut shrimp.....all I can say is,if you're on Kauai.... Go!
Best night out food. We went here for my friend birthday and everything melted in my mouth. Everything we had was perfect. The burger. The steak. The fish meals. I had catch of the day my friend had the Mahi Mahi. Wait maybe it was ahi. Allow it was good. Loved the mashed purple yams too. I can't eait to go back. My friend comes here every year when we visits home. And now I know about this place. I will come here everytime I visit kauai.
Coconut shrimp was amazing! Had 3 different pizzas and all were overdone and sooo salty. Burger was decent.
I had the coconut shrimp excellent!! Service was very good. Sat on patio very quaint.
We sat at the bar, service wasn't great but it was basically one bartender on a Friday night. Our food was good- we had the pasta of the day and the fish of the day, I loved the wasabi sauce! There was a man singing who was really good and then a band came on after. Was a cool place for a weekend night.
