Not only is the food not authentic, but the meat is always dry, the guacamole brown, the cocktails weak, and the presentation is really sloppy. Plus, they melt gouda over everything. Get some real cheddar, people!!! You sell it at every grocery store! The only saving point for this particular Enchilada is the location, smack in the middle of Hannover's beautiful old town. Great people watching and outdoor sitting area while you sip your weak cocktail.
Worst mexican food in my life. I could not eat it but still had to pay for it. Never again.
We were visiting from the Seattle area and we have always been spoiled with authentic Mexican food. My daughter was expecting a quick, Mexican meal with the typical flavors of lime and cilantro and this was not the case. Street tacos is very misleading. They were filled with peppers, a too spicy brown sauce (mole? and the shell was not street style. My quesadilla had very tasty chicken, however, mixed again with too many peppers and the flavors were not the Mexican food I 'm used to. The location, decor and bathrooms are all 4 stars and the food is 1-2. I would recommend this place as a convenient, beautiful stop to enjoy a beer and some salty tortilla chips with cheese sauce (like Velveeta and to use their lovely bathroom.
As a Texan, I know the meaning and definition of Tex-Mex food. Last night I finally tried out Enchilada. I had a tough time deciding on a 3 or 4 star review. I decided on a 3 because there is always room to improve: 1. The atmosphere is great and the bar looks good too. There is seating in the front in the pedestrian zone and great seating in the back courtyard. 2. Nice menu, not a typical boring German menu. 3. Service was okay. Our Server was polite. When asked where the beef was from, he had to ask. I do not like the taste of German beef. It turned out to be Argentinean. Once the food was brought the waiter never showed up to ask for something else to drink. We were not thirsty but it belongs to service. Later when the plates were taken we were asked. No big deal, all in all! 4. Food! The most important part: I had the fajitas which was supposedly Argentinean beef. Firstly, fajitas came out on a skillet as should be but no sizzelling! That's part of the experience! (tip to owner: lime juice). The meat was kind of dry. Gaucamole was served but it was the Watery kind. You could call it avocado sauce. Boo! Tortillas seem to be housemade. Put all together it was still very good and I recommend them to you. In conclusion, I will definatly return and try other things on the menu and provide an update here. Adios.
Beer got warm till it came and I didn't expect it so. Sorry but if you want to wait 30 min to order and another 30 min to get only your beer than you're welcome. On my question why it took so long I got the advice to look around... Very unkind!!!
