It seems my business isn’t appreciated. When I expressed my dissatisfaction, the staff suggested I order takeout instead. Clearly, the kitchen was still open, yet they refused to serve us. To make matters worse, there were at least ten other customers still eating inside. If you intend to close at 9 PM, you should adjust your hours accordingly.
After some back and forth, she reluctantly allowed us to sit at the larger table. Once we were seated, the server continued to shout at us from across the server station. We had to get our own menus, as she didn’t bring any over. While she did bring us water, she kept complaining about how inconvenient it was for a party of six to be at a table for eight. My son even asked about ordering bubble tea, which was prominently displayed in the window, but before he could finish his request, she abruptly replied that they were out of it. As she set down our water cups with visible frustration, it became clear that we were not welcome. This was not our first visit to the restaurant, and while the food has always been great, the service was appalling this time. Ultimately, we decided to leave and find another place to eat.
The food wasn't very spicy, but the dumplings were enjoyable, and the shrimp with egg yolk was tasty. However, the Mapo tofu could use a bit more spice.
Me wife and I love the food here. She is from China and I’ve spent a lot of time there and we were saying it’s hard to find this good of food in China. We always order the same 3 things: Sichuan Bean Jelly(伤心凉粉), Green Onion Lamb(葱爆羊)and Hot Boiling Fish Fillet(沸腾鱼). The service is quite pleasant as well. Not a big reviewer but thought this place deserves a shout out!
A truly dreadful experience in every aspect. I’ll start with the only positive being our waitress who was training and tried her best despite her overbearing, scattered trainer interfering. The food itself was overpriced, bland and essentially all oil.Complicating matters was being served a bowl of oily undercooked tofu and then being told rice was extra unless we order the entree which is explained nowhere on the poorly organized menu. This is by far the worst Chinese food I’ve had the displeasure of eating and one of the worst dining experiences in Portland.
