The Heritage Pub - Happy Valley

This is a stylish little place. The bartenders are friendly, the food is delicious, and the drinks are reasonably priced.

When I inquired about why I had to pay up front without even tasting my lunch first, I was told that many people order and then leave without paying. But I fail to see how that's my problem. If a restaurant has a payment policy—especially one that's quite unusual—it should be applied equally to everyone. Otherwise, they should eliminate it altogether. Being treated like a potential thief just because the staff doesn’t recognize me as a regular was very unwelcoming and felt discriminatory. After enjoying the chicken bacon wrap (with no tomatoes and extra olives) for the past seven years, I don’t think I’ll be returning to Heritage again. Dining out has become a significant expense for many, including me, especially with so many restaurants in the Portland area closing down. I’d prefer to spend my limited dining dollars somewhere that treats all customers equally and makes them feel welcome. Additionally, having to pay in advance meant I had to tip beforehand as well. I felt pressured to leave my usual 20% tip, despite not knowing how my food would be handled, as this awkward policy put patrons in a difficult position. UPDATE: Brett, who I believe is a manager at Heritage Pub, contacted me and understood my concerns. He clarified that it is *not* their policy to require payment in full before preparing an order, which I appreciated hearing. It reassured me that the staff simply made a mistake rather than this being a new guideline.

The Heritage pub is a Great neighborhood pub. Wait, staff and bartenders are all really nice people. the food is some of the best pub food that I’ve had in quite some time. They runs food specials all the time you never know what is going to be the special I’ve never been unhappy with their food

Went on a date that didn't end up being what I expected, when I let the bartender know I was trying to make a quick exit he immediately jumped into action and cashed me out fast so I could leave. Great service and a hot bartender to boot! Thank you!

Haven't tried the food but I'm going back tonight, girls bought my wife and our roommate drink after drink so I'd say pretty awesome atmosphere
