Red Wagon - Harahan

This place is a true gem in Harahan. The po'boys are excellent, and their daily specials are definitely worth the price.

Quaint charm with a nostalgic vibe. This local spot is often filled with an older crowd, and the sweet country girls behind the counter add to its charm. In today's world, you don't see that much anymore. They're so beloved that they haven’t bothered to place a new sign to indicate it's a restaurant rather than a business. It's always bustling at lunchtime. It's fortunate they have parking available right at the back. The food is delicious and very reasonably priced. I love the meatball po'boy, but they offer a wide variety of classic dishes.

We tried the shrimp and hamburg po'boy, and I opted for the Monday special to-go: a plate of white beans with green beans and a meat plate served with mac and cheese. The po'boy was decent, though the shrimp could have used more seasoning and a few were a bit tough. The burger was good, but I'm not used to having it on po'boy bread. The beans were excellent, but they served a significant amount of rice! I had to sift through the beans to find the pork; this was a bit unusual for me. The drink selection consists solely of bottled beverages, and while the bathroom is small, it is clean. Something that didn't matter to me may be a concern for others—the setup behind the counter feels a bit crowded. There's limited space, and I felt it would be better to have one person per area to minimize movement and touching.

Didn't know this place existed. And now I won't forget. Excellent food, Po Boys-Oh boy. Hot plates. Daily specials. You get large portions of delicious food. The service is excellent. Not a good place, but a great place to eat.

An absolute Harahan fixture. Great home cooked food, awesome po-boys, awesome people and more than fair prices. Service is super quick. I eat breakfast and lunch here at leat three times a week. If you're in the neighborhood do yourself a favor and stop by for some good food!
