My spouse wanted to try the Shrimp and Grits so we went for the dinner service and what a disappointment! His dish was edible, but not great, just mediocre. I ordered the Chicken Francaise, which I have had at many other restaurants and also made at home. When the dish arrived it looked liked soup with a lot of spaghetti and a slab of chicken. The chicken tasted off so I set it aside and tried to eat the pasta but the sauce was just terrible. I think they added water to it instead of chicken broth and forgot the butter. It might have been better had it been properly reduced and the chicken fresher but it was not good. It was early in the afternoon so possibly the real chef hadn't arrived and one of the cooks tried to make it without using a recipe? Either way, we won't be going back there again, it was a waste of money
We live at Smith Mountain Lake and highly recommend this restaurant. The food is great and the service is very good. The staff is also very friendly. This place also has a wonderful atmosphere. I highly recommend The Copper Kettle.
Food was very large portions (except appetizer). The charcuterie board was expensive and was light on the portion size. All the food had very nice presentations but the taste was average. We ordered meatloaf, three meatball meal, balsamic chicken and salads. The salads are the best part of the meal. The waitstaff and owners are great!
My wife and I had dinner at the Copper Kettle last evening. We found the staff very friendly and polite. Our server greeted us in a timely manner. We were served bread with butter while we waited for our entrees. Our dinners arrived at the table pretty quickly. The restaurant was busy and we know for a fact all the area restaurants are understaffed. So we are impressed by the level of service that staff provided. The wife had the Voodoo Pasta with shrimp and I selected the Shrimp and Grits. We found both dishes full of flavor and plenty of serviing. So much so we could not finish our meals. All in all this was a great experience. I highly recommend you give this restaurant a try.
Dined here with a group of friends and had an enjoyable time. The restaurant is easy to access and there is plenty of parking. Indoor and outdoor seating are options. The restaurant was clean and pleasant, and the menu offered a variety of options. Reservations are accepted and recommended for larger groups. The staff was good-natured and engaged in good conversation with our group. Would visit again if in the area.
