We arrived at 12:45 and had our drinks and placed our order by 12:55, which was a good start. We ordered two lamb roast dinners and a Lamb Shank off the main menu. However, our food didn't arrive until 1:45 and they were almost out of roast lamb, so they added some beef to the plates. Unfortunately, my wife and daughter do not eat beef, but they did switch it out for pork. The food was actually quite good, but the slow service and mix-up with the order means I can only give it 2 stars. Two months later, we returned for Sunday lunch and the experience was much better in terms of service and ambience. I have now upgraded my rating to three stars.
I went to The Queens Head in Sawbridgeworth about a month ago and I was impressed with this charming little pub. My husband and I enjoyed sitting in the lovely garden at the back of the pub, surrounded by comfortable and stylish furniture. The food was delicious, with a new menu that impressed us. Despite the busy atmosphere, we didn't have to wait long for our food, and it was definitely worth it. The fresh garlic chilli prawns were particularly standout. We live just outside of Sawbridgeworth, but we will definitely be returning to The Queens Head again.
