However, after ordering the deluxe set, I was pleasantly surprised by the delicious food and entertaining chef. I left the restaurant feeling happy and satisfied. I would highly recommend Okori Teppanyaki.
I would never return to this restaurant that is dirty, tired and infested with baby cockroaches running over the tables, but don't worry that the cook will flick them with his spatula. We went to family birthday and wish we had made a different choice within 5 minutes. The chairs are so low on the table that if you get under 5 feet 2 your chin will come near to rest in the table, not good. The cook appeared, but was so uninterested that he couldn't even get to welcome us. He didn't want to be there at all. The food came out and was under the average, especially the seafood that was frozen in a microwave and was muddy and unpleasant. The chicken was fat and the beef was a cheap cut and chewing gum. The cook gave no entertainment and uses salt and pepper pots that were empty and hardly anything came out so no spices actually happened. The food was so bad that we ate little of it and stacked it on our plates. The waitress was terrible and didn't clean up anything and only filled up drinks if we asked her. I would avoid this place at all costs, it is a garage that is hot and covered with bugs, it looks tired, the menus are sticky and dirty and the furniture is broken. How dare they call themselves a restaurant should be closed as it is a health hat.
Our group came here despite some negative reviews. Our experience was great. Yes, the building is tired and appearances are not good, but after lunch in newly renovated clean buildings, the terrible food I had to say "not judge it through the building. The food was... very well cooked there was a good choice of options, including for 1 of us who need to avoid gluten. Frances, yes he 's Japanese)our cook, was so much fun and asked how he cooked as we cooked various parts of the menu ie. Garlic yes/no and how we like our steak cooked) All employees were friendly and professional. So thank you Okori. We'll be back next time.
My partner and I brought our friends for our anniversary, it was so funny. We are not much of a seafood food, the staff was very accommodating to give us additional meat. We love our flesh! We need to interact with our personal cook at the table.... You get to catch your food, but if you don't let your thing just let the cook know. This has many parking spaces that were good and child-friendly. The set menu has many variety with good portions, so no need to order extras. I love how to fill your soft drinks right up! Good choice for our anniversary, good memories of our children.
This restaurant is actually on Parramatta Road Granville rather than Harris Park as the previous reviewers also mentioned. The photos on their website are also deceiving as the restaurant looks a lot more run down and definitely not as well furnished. It may have been...from their previous location, but it's just wrong not to update the photos to reflect the actual location from the owners. Anyways, our group of 18 came here for our grandmother's birthday and we were quite disappointed by the overall standard especially given the high prices. The restaurant had no air conditioning, generally quite dirty, and the food and presentation were quite poor and inconsistent. In fact, some of our family members got sick/food poisoning after this meal. Compared to other Teppanyaki restaurants, this one lacked atmosphere and the two chefs we had had a clear difference in skills as well. The better chef tried his best to keep us entertained and engaged, but the other was a total disaster. He was quiet and just didn't look like he wanted to be there, and probably the one that gave some of us food poisoning. One of the worst restaurants we had been to, and only their service prevented us from giving a 1 star rating. We will definitely not be coming back here again.
