Service wasn't up to the expectations. The server sat us at a dirty table without cleaning it up properly. There was no air con in the restaurant and they shut down their heaters before we finished eating our dinner. My wife was quite cold because of this reason. We also had to wait a while before we could sit somewhere but the restaurant had enough chairs to sit us down. General cleanliness was poor which should be improved.
Okori Tepan-yaki is a fantastic t for a family visit. We had a13th birthday there and the staff were very accommodating and the chefs were very funny. Most of all the food is super fresh and very tasty. A
As we walked in we nearly slipped over on the filthy slippery floor, I said to my husband let's go we can find another place to eat, but the group decided to stay as we were already there.. benifit of the doubt etc... I wish we had left it was just over priced rubbish. Beware the photos on their website are from Harris Park location, they are now at Granville which is just an old run down shed without any air conditioning, the toilet is filthy, the menus were sticky dirty, the floor was so dirty you almost slipped over.We have let council know about this place it's a total health risk. Stay away, I'm just warning everyone....
Went here for a friend's birthday dinner as a group of 16.Arrived at 7pm (we had made a booking). We were neither greeted nor seated...we sat ourselves at the only empty grill there. After maybe 10 minutes, menus were brought over. After another 20 minutes, drinks orders were taken. After a further 20 minutes, food orders were taken. At this stage, we'd been there for almost an hour and we were all very hungry! To make matters worse, the table next to us received their food long before ours arrived, even though they'd arrived around 30 minutes after us.We finally received our drinks, about 20 minites after ordering them. Our food began to arrive at 9:15...2 hours and 15 minutes after we'd arrived!!!We had to constantly call waitress over to replenish drinks throughout the night. As I was driving, I was drinking water. The server dropped a piece of fish into the water jug and I had to wait about 30 minutes before I could flag down the waitress to bring out a fresh jug.Food was bad, really bad!The fish was squishy and slimy. The chicken was inedible. The prawns tasted off. The beef was just ok. The salad was nice and fresh, and served with a really tasty dressing. The worst part was that all food was served as a single item. So, the fish was cooked and eaten, then came the chicken, then the beef and so on. It was not a meal so much as a small taster of lots of different items.Last came the vegetables and the rice. Why not prepare these first so people can pick away at these while the proteins are being cooked and served?I've visited a few other tepinyaki restaurants and enjoyed them immensely; this one is just bad!The theatrics were just ok. The usual throwing and catching of the egg, the bowls of rice etc. But it was all just a bit boring. We didn't order dessert as we had brought a birthday cake with us for the birthday girl. I can honestly say that this cake was the only morsel I actually enjoyed throughout the whole night! Needless to say, I left feeling very hungry!!There's no ambience whatsoever.Service is painfully slow. The toilet (singular) is filthy and absolutely stinks!!On a positive note, our waitress was friendly (even though she was extremely slow to serve!) and there's free parking around the back.I will definitely not return. On a side note: address listed is incorrect. This place is situated on Parramatta Road in Granville, not in Harris Park.
This restaurant, relocated from Harris Park to Parramatta Road Granville provides a number of teppanyaki sets to choose from. The food is fresh and obviously prepared in front of you on the teppan. The chef keeps the usual teppan restaurant theatrics to the end of the cooking, therefore allowing you to enjoy the meal first. I wwould like to note that the chef involved my young son in the bowl catching which he really enjoyed. Overall a great meal, well prepared and served by friendly staff. Well worth a try.
