When they first opened and the food options were pretty much tacos, I wanted to love them, but I wasn't impressed. And so there wasn't a lot of option for a dinner evening here unless you started next door at Koda which was hit or miss. Now Koda is gone and they actually have a Smoked meat kind of themed menu and there is good variety, specials, and some awesome fries. You seat yourself and then go up to the bar to order and then the food is brought out to you. Servers do check in on you once you're settled to see if you need more drinks etc so that is nice. The beers are yummy and they have craft cocktails too which I appreciate for no crazy sour mix everything is housemade. I believe they still use local spirits for the cocktails and I am pretty sure you can still get some local wine but don't quote me on that. That's how it was before the BBQ but not sure after since I stuck to beer and a margarita. They have a stage for live music and they have games around to play which is fun. There is a TV projection on the wall for sports and a nice outside area for the nice weather days. The people are nice and friendly and helpful too if you're not sure what you want to drink. The place is kid friendly too so if you're in a bind and want a date night, you can bring your kids here as long as they're well behaved lol. My son enjoyed playing his nintendo switch while snacking on their smoked chicken on a stick. Cheers!
The beer, their Cervaza Face Stout and their Missile Jockey Barrel Aged Stout were both excellent. The dinner consisted of the South Carolina style Pulled Pork Sandwich accompanied by the tallow fries and cornbread (with what appeared to be honey butter). Very good all around.
To be honest, I really wasn 't impressed with this establishment. I had high hopes and was pretty disappointed. We came here for their music trivia night. We arrived and parking was easy FYI, you have to park in the back). We were seated and drink orders taken. It was an easy and relaxed atmosphere and not many people there. We ordered a flight of beers to be able to try several selections. It wasn 't even written on the menu that this was an option, we had to ask, and had no idea what the price was ended up being $11). We got a variety of types and flavors and didn 't really like any of them. We got the chicken quesadilla for an appetizer, and this was probably the best out of everything we tried. The chicken was seasoned to make it taste smoky and was paired well with jalapenos. I got the smoked cheesesteak $14) that came with potato chips. It looked amazing when it came out, but it was so sickly sweet I almost couldn 't eat it. The bacon jam was essentially maple syrup poured over bacon. My fiance got the mushroom swiss burger $14). It was so dry, he was never asked how he wanted it cooked. My fiance also paid $2 extra to get the mozzarella sticks for a side instead of chips. THEY GAVE HIM ONLY 3 SMALL MOZZARELLA STICKS. When you pay for an upgraded side, it should come with more than that. We both left still hungry. My aunt and uncle got the pulled pork perogies, which they said tasted fine but nothing spectacular and were cold when they arrived at the table. Another bothersome issue was that we were only given a few napkins. They wouldn 't put them on the table and we pretty stingy with handing them out. We kept asking for them, getting one or two at a time, but ended to just having to go to the bathroom to wash our hands. For these reasons, I unfortunately had to give this restaurant only a 2 star rating.
I went were they had bingo Thursday night. So I got my cards and stamp. Someone in a safe distance sat from me. Table's spaced out well and they did everything mask, gloves so it gets my approval. I ordered the pulled pork with fries I put Mac and cheese on top it is yummy and need the bbq sauce. The Mac and cheese by itself not the greatest need some season. I got the braid pretzels too it was good. So note if there is a event they don't bring our food because it took forever for my new friend Heather to get her food and little things. The staff and the waitress was really nice apologize for the late or slowness. Why I gave it 4 because not being consistent speed from my food to Heather's took too long for her stuff (which no that's not right) it is pricey but I would do it again.
Nice atmosphere but the music is too loud every. single. time. I would be here everyday if they turned it down. Food is average but beer is good.
