Strites Orchard - Harrisburg

If I could give zero stars, I definitely would. As a local, I’ve had more negative experiences at this establishment than I can count. They don't provide clear guidance for their "pick your own" products, and it can be confusing to know if you’ve selected correctly. I know it wasn't my fault, yet when I found spoiled fruit, it was unfortunate that it was my responsibility. There were lanternflies everywhere, and when I pointed out that my item was spoiled, a rude older woman dismissed my concern, even laughing at me when I showed her the half-brown insides. I asked for a refund, but she flatly refused, saying I could get someone else to tell me the same thing. I found her attitude embarrassing and decided to leave, abandoning my purchase and receipt because of her disrespectful behavior. I strongly recommend avoiding this place; it’s not worth your time!

With over 100 years of consistently delivering award-winning produce, Strites continues to be a go-to seasonal destination for cherries, strawberries, and raspberries. They also offer a variety of other goodies, including preserves, ice cream, and candies!

I was disappointed to find that the restaurant charged a non-refundable fee of $16 just for their only container, which was a 2-quart box. I took the time to walk down there, but the blueberry bushes were nearly bare, making the upfront fee feel completely unjustified. They really should have been weighing the blueberries, given the sparse yield. On a positive note, they did have some excellent blueberries for sale inside, but overall, I felt let down by the experience.

I went to get some fresh vegetables like corn on the cob, cucumbers, cabbage, and green peppers. However, I stumbled upon a freshly baked cherry pie with a crumb topping that was still warm. It was absolutely delicious!

This place offers a great selection of fresh produce, baked goods, and canned items. You can even pick your own fruits and vegetables! They have apples, peaches, cucumbers, tomatoes, eggplants, eggs, milk, ice cream, pickles, onions, various kinds of peppers, corn, and pears. There are restrooms available, along with picnic tables set up outside. The service was friendly and efficient.
