Mid Week Couples Retreat This is a fabulous 2 night stay offer at Bivouac in a luxurious Yurt with breathtaking views and scenery. Everything you need is to hand and the fire keeps the yurt warm and toasty. If you are unfortunate to have windy weather i recommend ear plugs as the yurt can flap a bit. On a clear night the stars are amazing. The local walks are stunning. This deal includes, 2 nights, continental breakfast, a bottle of prosecco a two course meal at Swinton Terrace restaurant with lift transfers and a morning or afternoon in the spa on both days. The Bivouac cafe provides great food but is only open to 5pm weekdays. Masham provides a range of pubs, i recommend the White Bear if you are not choosing to eat at Swinton Park Hotel. Or use the facilities st Bivouac and cook your own dinner. This is a unique experience and something different, I really recommend this stay.
We sat in the Autumn sun outside for lunch I had the special chicken burger which was sizeable and tasty though a farm hen seemed a bit too interested in trying to share my meal! Indoor is modern, and there's a downstairs area with some toys etc that young kids might enjoy. There's also a couple of small bits of play equipment outside (again, for younger kids). We walked up here from Swinton Estate hotel, which took about an hour each way with one section through slightly overgrown nettles (so don't wear shorts).
Have been in the area before so the cafe was on my visit list. Arrived about 11am . Was disapointed so see little in the way of Gluten Free offerings with the exception of toast. I had the porriage which was tepid. I know I could of sent it back but couldn't be bothered as we had already had a wait. However the coffee was good. This place could be great but need the get the basics right i.e hot food and more offerings for people with food intolerances.
I visited a charming cafe in a picturesque location with stunning views of the Yorkshire Dales. The friendly staff served delicious coffee, and there was both indoor and outdoor seating available. There is a car park for £3 and a designated children's area.
