Goldsborough Hall - Harrogate

My daughter gifted me with afternoon tea at this charming place. We arrived at lunchtime, enjoyed coffee, and explored the picturesque gardens until 3pm when we indulged in afternoon tea in the garden room and terrace. Every aspect of the experience, including the weather, was superb.

Lovely place. We enjoyed a garden room (dual aspect) which was spacious and bright. The tasting menu was delightful and the gardens are beautiful. We will definitely be back.

The dining experience at this restaurant is a mix of good and not-so-good aspects. The dinners in the old dining room are excellent, while the library and lounge are beautiful spaces and the main staircase is impressive. However, the accommodations at the rear and the large room for teas and breakfasts leave something to be desired. The big room, although bright and airy, is lacking carpeting and can be noisy, as it also serves as a throughway to the back rooms. I did not have a chance to see the bedrooms in the main part of the house. The staff is generally very good, but the booking system can be frustrating due to the constant reminders and requests from the automated system. It would be beneficial for them to consider using a different system.

I loved everything about this restaurant. It's perfect for a quick stop or a relaxing weekend getaway.
