The food was all delicious and expertly cooked. When my husband mentioned he didn't like Parmesan on his salad, they quickly made him a new one. Our friends also found their accommodations to be very comfortable. We will definitely be returning to this restaurant in the future.
For starters, I chose the Calamari, which was a bit pricey but turned out to be a good portion size and very tasty. It was accompanied by a salad garnish, dip, and lemon wedge. My wife opted for the Hummus with pitta bread, which she also enjoyed. For the main course, we both decided on the Steak and Ale Pie, which came in individual round dishes with a fresh crusty top and plenty of meat and ale gravy. The accompanying sides of new potatoes, peas, and chips were all delicious. The atmosphere at the pub was cozy and charming, with friendly and efficient staff. We also observed a young lady handling customer bookings for meals and rooms with grace and professionalism. The outdoor area looked lovely, and it was clear that the pub had a bright future ahead. The total bill for two starters, two mains, and drinks came to just over fifty six pounds, which we found to be reasonable. Overall, we had a pleasant dining experience and will definitely be returning in the future. I recommend giving The Wellington Inn a try – you won't be disappointed.
We visited on Friday night and have a nice meal. it was busy, but had many employees. service was fast and efficient.
We went to lunch yesterday. what a waste of time and money. we had the garnel and redfishery; three garnel, very spicy fish, hard cold pitta, dry, tasteless rice. that was so disappointing. No one came near to ask how it was at all, and when the tellers were collected, we told the waitress (political) that we were unhappy with eating. She scrubbed her shoulders. that was it. we've been and it's always been a bit hit and missing. this time it was a failure, so we'll give it to the future. there are many other places to eat that are much better.
All of the waitstaff appeared to be constantly on their feet, rushing to the tables as soon as the dishes were cleared, and seemed exasperated when taking our orders. The manager was unfriendly to our table when we raised concerns about our incorrect order. Despite this, we decided to give the restaurant another chance, only to be told to vacate our table at a certain time and stand outside if we wanted to continue drinking. It's a shame because the pub has a beautiful appearance.
