Absolutely brilliant the fish was fantastic, a monster size portion, it was massive fresh and delicious washed down with a bottle of Shiraz! Loved it, super tasty great offer and great value! Great staff as well thanks guys
We booked a table for 9 people for Sunday lunch. When we arrived, we were told there was no booking and were even asked for the evidence that we had made the booking in the first place and that we had received a confirmation (which I provided). I was highly embarrassed as The Frog Wicket left us stranded. Fortunately The Chequers (just over the road) were able to accommodate and provided excellent food and service. If you are looking for outstanding food and service, I highly recommend The Chequers.
Had lunch with my wife and two grandchildren and I would sadly say that over the six years we 've been going to 'The Frog ' the prices and steadily increased and the quality of the food has slowly gone down. A few years ago you would get coleslaw and a small salad with the burger and chips and... I am sure the burger was bigger too. Now it 's costs £17.50 and is just a burger (with a few bits in) and frozen chips, no side salad, no coleslaw, not even any gherkin in the burger. Chips described as 'thrice cooked ' or whatever are still the basic frozen jobs, crisp on the outside, mash in the middle, standard cheap pub fare. Kid 's burger and chips £8.50, is even more basic, a dry bun (with nothing else) and chips. Thinking of Burger King or McD 's my grandson said It 's a bit boring, could have just had some lettuce or a tomato. Out of the mouths of babes...
Went for Sunday lunch to celebrate my wife’s birthday. Nice broad menu with a couple of specials as well. Service very good. Food arrived hot and good sized portions. Only downside, and it’s very small, is that they had run out of English mustard. It wasn’t exactly a disaster, but how do you completely run out and why doesn’t someone pop to a local supermarket and buy a few jars? I would definitely recommend this place for a nice meal.
What an awful experience . No starters no squid no seabass. It would have been easier taking our own food. We ended up with soggy cold fish and chips . My father ended up with a curry with no sauce . All utter chaos . We complained and got no where . All unedible which is disappointing as we were meeting old friends . Will NEVER EAT THERE AGAIN . Then they had the audacity to bill us
