I’m not particularly fussy, but it also offers some nice extras: 1. Friendly staff, 2. A gym, 3. A sauna, and 4. A pool. The pool is surprisingly nice, while the gym could use some improvement. It has a few treadmills, a Peloton bike, an elliptical machine, some dumbbells, and space for stretching with straps, mats, and foam rollers. I would appreciate more equipment, but I’m glad there’s something available. The sauna is a great extra, although keep in mind that you might find it empty (like the pool and gym — I didn’t see anyone else using them). It takes about 20 to 30 minutes to heat up, so turn it on before your workout. Overall, it’s a great place to stay right in Downtown Hartford, just a short walk from the train station. I’ll definitely return the next time I’m in the area.
The lobby may be small, but the staff is friendly, welcoming, and efficient. The restaurant has a café vibe, but the bar staff is fantastic and is doing their best to elevate the experience despite the ongoing renovations. They offer a solid drink selection that would please anyone looking for a relaxing beverage. The rooms are clean, and many have been updated. I had the pleasure of staying in one of these updated rooms, and the bed was fantastic while the overall room was great! As someone who travels frequently, I have high expectations from certain hotel brands, and the Hilton brand here is still maintaining its standards. They’re just in the process of polishing things up! Best of luck to the entire staff, and I look forward to seeing this hotel regain its former glory!
The room itself was a good size and included amenities like an iron, hairdryer, and a comfortable bed; overall, it was clean. I noticed that Hilton is planning to transition to a DoubleTree property later this year, which may explain why the upper floors seemed to be closed off. While in an Uber, I observed that those upper floors were vacant. One of the highlights to look forward to is the delicious chocolate chip cookies they offer! The reason I was visiting Hartford was to attend an event at the convention center. There's a free Dash shuttle available on weekdays that can take you there, in addition to paid parking options. Union Station is within walking distance, as are several dining options.
Comfortable bed, a lot of street noise if your room faces the street. Lobby staff was less than professional incapable of smiling, poorly dressed. One was wearing nurse scrubs. First room smelled terrible and we had to move. Not sure what the source of the odor was we felt it may have been something in the carpet. three of us agreed it stunk not just me. Second room was better but the shower curtain reeked of sour dish rag. We just dealt with it. You could smell it outside the bathroom door it was so strong. I guess their cleaning staff does have sensory receptors in their noses.
This is a glorified Motel 6 stay far away. Don 't be bamboozled by the Hilton name. It 's motel 6 with lipstick a skirt. The carpet is soiled with unknown substances. My toilet was broken and made loud noises through out the night that kept me from sleeping. Curtains and walls are soiled with unknown substances. Room service will knock softly so you can 't hear them to avoid cleaning. Room will have a stench. The worst part is when you arrive you will be fooled by the lobby because the outside looks amazing but as soon as they snatch your dollars you see the room and realize this has to be a money laundering scheme. There is a hotel down the road that is much better. Do not, I repeat, do not book.
