Prospect Cafe - Hartford

A true hidden gem! Not only did I get an amazing meal, the service is top notch. Their dinner plates are great combinations, sandwiches are filled to the brim with content and flavor. So many great choices, and the desserts... forget it. You have to immediately ask for a box during dinner so you have room for dessert! I have been back twice, the second time this weekend. They happen to be out of the Pineapple Coconut cake I was craving (even called ahead to check . When they heard I was craving it and I was disappointed that it was completely gone, the server Cat apologized profusely (completely not her fault, it is that dang good and then asked her manager if they can do something about it! At the end of my meal they gave me a gift card to come back for the cake another night! Thanks so much for the great experience and amazing lunch leftovers. :

This has become our 'go to ' neighborhood cafe. Upscale creative bar fare always consistently delicious, excellent selection of beer, jazz on Tuesdays, a lovely patio and the absolute best service!

The food was great--we had the clam chowder (adventurous, but very tasty) and the BBQ pork and mushroom burgers; the waiter was quite friendly, got our complex order entirely correct, and was very knowledgeable about the beer that my friend ordered. Although there was a billing mistake with the tip, we contacted the owner and it was corrected within 30 minutes. Whenever our travels take us to eating in West Hahtfed, we will definitely be back at the Prospect Cafe!

Lived in the neighborhood for quite some time my girlfriend suggested we eat have a few beers.to my amazement it was the best place for delicious food as well as great atmosphere! We will be back soon!
