The outside and inside of the building are painted in a bright yellow making it really stand out. We were seated right away and ordered a Thai iced tea and the pork summer rolls to start with. The rolls were served with a peanut sauce and it was so good individually and also together. We also ordered a classic banh mi (pork belly, pate, and pork ham filling) and the grilled lemongrass chicken noodles. Both entrees were also so good. The service was good although a little slow but overall I really enjoyed my time here. I’ll definitely come back!
I just ordered the original bahn mi, not good at all. They did not place any jalapeños or toast the bread. It did not have much flavor, other then the mayonnaise. I will not ne ordering the bahn mi, from there anymore.
Not that Saigonese needs any more stellar reviews, but as [by far] my favorite restaurant, I'll add mine: Delicious food (who doesn't love pho, shrimp summer rolls and vietnamese spring rolls? , friendly, family atmosphere (they know us by names! , friendly service and reasonable prices combine to make Saigonese a gem. It's 20 miles away from where we live, but we make the trip at least twice a month. We used to go to NYC for Vietnamese. Not anymore. On a side note, if you haven't tried the mango salad, give it a try. Like everything else at Saigonese, it's a delicate medley of exotic flavors.
The combo pho was yummy, as was the grilled chicken platter but I was a tad suss of the emptiness and cleanliness of the restaurant as compared to the other Vietnamese joint up the road.
Oomg!! Absolutely loved it here! Random spot I had found. This place is a gem! The owner so nice felt the service so personal such a mom pop vibe type of feeling I would definitely be dining here again!
