Great Sunday lunch excellent food including great Yorkshire puddings with all mains; lovely cheerful service and totally child and dog friendly. We were 11 adults, 3 children and 2 dogs so sampled the roast lamb, fish, nut roast and children's meals plus the special Easter puddings. We were happy with everything!
We went to The Beacon with friends for a birthday lunch yesterday! We all went for Roast Chicken, the chicken was lovely and moist, fabulous roast potatoes and delicious well cooked veggies with a home made gravy. Then for dessert we had the apple crumble and lemon polenta cake. Yummy! Lovely atmosphere and beautiful garden. Highly recommend. Thanks for a great afternoon.
The Sunday roast is expensive but then it was obviously prepared by a top quality chef and this would have been three times the price in London. The food was absolutely delicious. Service was excellent fast and friendly and the surroundings are quite enchanting. My one slight criticism is that I wish a gratuity hadn 't been added to the bill as no-one is going to appear like Scrooge and say 'no, take it off ', I feel that should be left to the discretion of the customer. Anyway, the food was heavenly so who cares.
My in-laws were visiting from new zealand and to escape the London heatwave we took a trip down to hastings. Taking a walk up the west hill, we saw a sign advertising live music. With a little more investigation we found the beacon. It was the most amazing house and gardens with great drinks selection, hospitality and a high quality jazz band playing! Will have to come to hastings more often
