They have a good variety of hand-pumped ales as well as typical lagers and other alcoholic beverages. The cozy atmosphere inside gives off a feeling of a welcoming community pub. I stopped by for a couple of beers during my visit to Hastings Rye, and the drinks were refreshing and tasty. The staff was incredibly friendly and approachable. They also serve delicious pub food, and there is a nice outdoor seating area. I would definitely recommend this place.
This pub in Old Town is just another one of the many pubs in the area that are decent, but not particularly outstanding. It's quite small and a bit run-down, but the staff are friendly enough. The picnic tables out front are a nice touch if you're looking for a spot to enjoy some fish and chips with a pint of beer. It's a good option for a pub crawl, but probably not a place where you'd want to spend the entire evening.
My experience at this pub on Saturday was not pleasant. Despite being one of the busier places, I waited for 20 minutes at the bar without being served, while it seemed like regulars were being attended to. When I finally asked the barman for service, he responded rudely and told me to leave. This kind of disrespect is unacceptable and I will not be returning to this pub anytime soon. I have never been spoken to in such a manner by any barman before, and I will be sharing this negative experience publicly.
Brilliant homely roast. Will be returning for a meal soon. Pity about the bar selection, could have been a lot better. The pub itself is like a tardis. Way bigger than you expect and room outside for alfresco dinning.
This place is a gem. The staff are helpful and friendly, the real ale was kept very well and the Pizzas looked so good we had to return the following day and weren’t disappointed. The Chefs (I assume a couple) took pride in their food and were we here longer we’d have definitely had the Sunday roast too. I’m picky, fussy and don’t generally give reviews let alone rave reviews but this place despite appearance is well worth a visit on all fronts. Excellent!!!!!
