Pier 98 Steaks, Seafood Catering

This was our first visit to the restaurant. After seeing the positive reviews, we decided to give it a shot. We ordered the seafood pasta to share, but it took at least 30 minutes for our food to come out. The server was friendly, but incredibly slow. We arrived at 6:28, and the restaurant wasn't very busy at the time. Unfortunately, the food was just average—nothing special. Overall, we were disappointed and won't be returning.

Absolutely amazing! The seafood was fresh, perfectly seasoned, and there were plenty of excellent options on the menu. The service was outstanding, with multiple staff members checking in on our table to ensure everything was fine, offering drink refills, napkins, and removing empty plates. It was truly a wonderful experience. Don’t miss the warm bread pudding—it’s a generous portion and absolutely delicious. This was our first visit, and we can’t wait to return!

Pier 98 Steaks and Seafood Catering is, in my view, home to some of the finest steaks in the area! My wife and I enjoy dining here for several reasons. The staff is welcoming, the owner is fantastic, the food is exceptional, and it's conveniently located less than two miles from our home. Situated right in the heart of Oak Grove, just outside Hattiesburg, MS, it's a perfect spot. If you haven't had the chance to try their menu, we strongly recommend giving them a shot! We've sampled a variety of dishes, and everything has been incredible!

Always skeptical of a new place, I read reviews; which left me more skeptical. We decided to meet our friends there anyway, nothing ventured nothing gained. Once inside the doors, the atmosphere was pleasant. From the groupings of people, it gave the vibe of of the kind of place friends could relax and enjoy time together over a meal. By some standards, items were a bit pricey, but when you consider that the items are freshly prepared and not bulk-ordered through a chain, and the recipes were more unique than eating off a mass produced menu, then it became quite a treat. There was also a steak special offered that was very well priced, although it lacked in originality. Portions-generous, food-served hot, staff-attentive, and value/price-equal. It was a great first experience and we will put this on our list of return-to places to dine.

Charged per ounce of cocktail sauce. 1st plate was pretty cold. By the third plate it was lukewarm.Food: 2/5
