We were surprised to find an Indian restaurant in Havana, so we decided to try it out. The staff was friendly and the choices on the menu were good. I am vegetarian and ordered the paneer, but I would not recommend it as it was chewy and the sauce was bland. My boyfriend had the black beans which were enjoyable. The samosas were really delicious. However, the prices were much higher compared to other meals we had in Cuba.
We told the waitress that we were vegan and she was very nice and accommodating. I liked the eggplants vegan dish but it is more like a side or a bathroom.
I visited this restaurant for a special occasion. The menu is mostly vegetarian, but they are willing to suggest vegan options. I thought the food was a bit bland, but I only tried the Eggplant curry. The variety and vegan options were appreciated, but overall it was not very impressive. I also found it to be pricey, even by Cuban tourist standards.
Great restaurant. Nice décor, very attentive service , and excellent items. Although, the veg/vegan items are few, they were tasty and very satisfying. Indian food in the heart of Havana is a welcome change from resort food, for any vegan traveller or non-veg traveller. Great experience!
