We thought our sat navigation had sent us wrong (again) and nearly turned around and left but we spotted the Royal Oak around the corner, facing the sea. Parking can be difficult as it doesn't have a car park and there's double yellows part way up the street. Inside its warm, cosy and welcoming. We were shown to a table and our little border terrier was fussed. We ordered starters of soup of the day (spiced pumpkin) and I chose the bao bun. Both were freshly made very tasty. Main courses were a Cumberland ring on the specials menu and a lanb shank. Both were lovely, good portion size, freshly made and well presented. Staff were very friendly and efficient. We're really pleased we found the Royal Oak and will definately return.
