This is our daughters favorite place. The food is cooked as you watch very fresh and delicious . Great value too.
I figured I would give some local reviews, and this is the first one I wanted to mention. Tacos Lupita doesn't look like much on the outside, but it is hands down the best value for delicious food in Haverhill. The burritos are delicious, and under $6...QUALITY FOOD, quickly, for less than Taco Bell or McDonalds! Most people do takeout here, but they do have tables if you wish to eat in. They sell Mexican Coke (with real sugar in glass bottles) along with other latin american sodas. Friendly staff speaks English well. If you are staying at the Hampton or Best Western, it is a very short drive and I would highly recommend checking it out rather than the typical fast food options.
It is very hard to find good Mexican food in New England. Tacos Lupita serves very good Mexican good. They would be successful anywhere. I can only comment on the tacos since that is all I ever eat. The tacos are excellent, in particular the pork tacos on corn tortillas. It is similar to very good street food very, very, tasty.
I dropped into Tacos Lupita hoping for one of those lucky, transcendent street food experiences like Dallas ' famous and rightfully so Taqueria El Si Hay (see [hidden link] . The reviews for Tacos Lupita here and on Yelp trend positive. I was very hopeful. Sadly, I should have set my expectations somewhat lower. Tacos Lupita is a disappointing restaurant on all fronts. Tacos Lupita has all the makings of a good street food place, but stumbles repeatedly in execution. We sampled tacos (beef , burritos (puerco al pastor , and tortas (puerco al pastor . The skimpy amount of pork on the torta was tiny charred pebbles of meat, completely overwhelmed by the sandwich 's salad and thick bread. There was no bite or spice to be found here, no crunch or brightness in the vegetables, and no creamy tartness in the mayonnaise. It was a messy, overwhelmingly bland, disappointing sandwich thing. The beef in the tacos was bland and rubbery, and once again the preparation was skimpy on the protein, bland and unappetizing overall. The burrito was the sort of gullet bomb one expects, filling empty stomach space as you quickly shove it past your gums. It was over populated with rice and, once again, almost devoid of the requested protein. Even with everything on it soupy guacamole, crema, denuded pico de gallo and canned enchilada sauce pawned off as hot sauce these thing was a flavorless bomb. The horchata was overly, cloyingly sweet and I could not finish it. The restaurant was moderately busy at lunch during a weekday. The tables were dirty and the floor was greasy to the point of being slippery.
