Shaw's Pancake House - Hawkestone

This family-run pancake house, operated by the Shaw family, does an excellent job serving seasonal dishes.

I am reviewing the syrup farm section of Shaw's restaurant.

I had an amazing experience at this restaurant. The owners were extremely welcoming and the food was absolutely delicious.

As an Australia in Canada I had never seen how Maple Syrup was made, but Shaw's gave me a chance to experience the process. From walking through the forest seeing the tapped trees and buckets hanging from the trees, into the shed with the evaporator to see if turned from liquid to Syrup. Mr Shaw was more than happy to spend time explaining the process and the history of his family run business and the history behind it. A brilliant experience for anyone who wants to see how Canada's most tasty export is produced, and support a local family run business.

Decided on going to Shaws Pancake House in Oro-Medonte this past weekend for breakfast. Friendly family atmosphere, and great pancake breakfast. You'll leave very full especially if you order the 2 pancakes with sausages. Get there early, weekends are busy.
