Auburn Hotel - HAWTHORN

The interior of the venue was beautiful and had a nice ambiance, although the lighting was a bit dim and made us sleepy. I ordered the porterhouse steak with mushroom sauce and requested my steak well done due to my pregnancy. The steak did come out slightly pink in parts, but was mostly cooked well and tasted delicious. The vegetables were fresh and tasty, with a buttery flavor that I enjoyed. The chips were seasoned well, although we couldn't quite pinpoint the seasoning - it seemed tangy with pepper. I would rate my dish a 4/5 as there were some areas for improvement, but overall it was a solid dish. My partner ordered the Parma which was tasty but could have used a bit more sauce. We shared a sticky date pudding which was light and fluffy, but we felt it needed more sauce and ice cream. Despite some minor issues, we both agreed that the overall experience was good.

Today, we went to the Auburn hotel to enjoy some drinks in the sunny courtyard and ordered several bowls of chips. They have a variety of options including regular, beer battered, and wedges, all of which we enjoyed. The interior of the building is very pretty and the menu items that we saw being ordered looked delicious. We will definitely return for lunch.

The atmosphere at this restaurant is fantastic! We had a great time enjoying drinks and sharing some dishes together on a sunny winter day. The courtyard is lovely and makes it perfect for family gatherings or events. Highly recommended!

Fantastic to spend sometime with friends in one of the gorgeous igloos, which was warm and comfortable despite of the cold winter nights. The food platter (cheese/cold meats/olives/liver pate/bread/cheese/crackers/hummus/celery/grapes/honey) was so generous in serving size but extremely delicious. I loved the chocolate fondue with fresh bananas and strawberries...honeycomb, marshmallows, shortbread and brownie were definitely a hit too!

The Winter Igloos are sensational. We had an igloo for 2 people even though it can seat 8-10. It’s a great experience on a winters day/night. For $49 per person it’s great value getting a food platter and including a drink each...and the Igloo is yours to use for 2.5 hours. The Auburn Hotel is a great hotel with various rooms to use. Might have to come back with a group of friends.
