While it may not always be very crowded, the curries and traditional dishes here always deliver that classic Indian flavor with a kick of spices and pure flavors. One thing we always look for when visiting an international restaurant is whether there are individuals from the same country dining there. At the Indian Door, this is usually the case, with authentic Indian diners enjoying thalis or curries, solidifying the restaurant's authenticity.
The Indian Gate restaurant is impressive from the outside with a large statue of a classic Rajhastan soldier at the entrance. While it may not always be crowded, the curry and traditional dishes consistently deliver the classic Indian flavors of pure spices and a hint of spice. A definite plus for us when visiting international restaurants is seeing locals dining there, and at Indian Gate, this is often the case with Indians enjoying their thalis or curries, providing undeniable proof of the restaurant's authenticity.
India Gate restaurant at George street in Sydney offers decent Indian meals with good options in both Vegetarian and non vegetarian categories. The seating is spacious and they have ground plus first floor available. Food taste is good and quantity is decent. Service is efficient. There are a lot of Indian tourist groups coming here regularly so would suggest you check and do advance booking before going.
The papdi chat served for lunch was very tasty and nice.. The place looks very average.. no proper decor and stuff.. Overall the food tastes very average..Yes indulge in Indian stuff if you are travelling from India to sydney. You will feel atleast little closer to home.
The Naan was like pastry, Roti hard, Channa like it was Cooked raw with no masala. Channa Pattura, the pattura was so oily that we could finish. Thala was below average. No one cared to find out why there was so much food left over as well paid and left never to come againGot fooled by the old Jaipur name on the other side of Central which was there few year ago. Chicken Tikka and chicken tikka masala was ok. Dosa was good.
