Maloney's Hotel - Haymarket

Got the burger ???? meh. I don't think I'll eat here again. It wasn't bad, but with so many other great burger joints around now, I think I'll stick to them. I went at Anzac Day, so there was a good atmosphere !! But stick to drinks !

This place is everything one could dislike about a pub. Its big and void of any character. But its about the food, right? Eh, no. Its not. I've eaten here a few time and I have never taken a positive away. The food borders on inedible. Portions are fair for the price but heating up frozen or microwave standard meals does not count as cooking. Better options for food or drink

I can manage a quick drink here once in a blue moon despite it is a bit grimey . Usually we sit by the large window along Goulburn street that is good for people watching. Nothing as sophisticated as pubs in Surry Hills, just a standard Irish pub serving standard Australian beers and basic wine list. Not that there is anything wrong with it. Frequented by backpackers from near hostels, it apparently turns into rave night with disco balls and dance floor on Saturday nights. thernbdiary.com

Maloneys is an Irish pub in Haymarket with a solid pub menu which is mixed in with some traditional Irish fare. The pub has a great atmosphere most nights of the week (evenings is generally a mix of after work and backpacker crowd) although weekends it can get pretty hectic and messy! Some of my faves on the menu include the Lamb Ribs with Housemade BBQ Sauce, Lamb Shank with Parsnip & Herb Mash and the 300g Rib Eye Steak. They also do a solid Chicken Schnitty and have a regular specials board. This week's special was a great 350g Sirloin on the bone served with Char Grilled Sweet Potato Wedges. If you're feeling adventurous and multicultural, give the Irish Sampler Plate a crack, featuring Boxty (Irish Potato Pancakes), Bangers & Mash, Beef & Guiness Pie and Irish Stew. ????????????????

One of the worst meals I've had in Sydney. The $17.90 char grilled steak special was an atrocious cut of meat. I won't be back. The bar staff were fine however I think the kitchen staff were embarrassed to be serving such food.
