I have to go forward to see if someone could wait for us, but of course nobody was there. it was not until we had to go to applebees that the socializing waitress asked if someone had waited for us while we were still talking to the group behind us. this waitress deliberately tried to avoid work, she was more interested in the latest slavish and flirt than to do her work. it was very unprofessional to say the least and it made them look lazy and flippant. it should be pointed out that this was on Tuesday and it was dead in restaurant only a few tables and there were waitresses standing around chatting and playing in their phones. it is unacceptable and unprofessional. we have dined at big blue alot and the owners/manager must run this place better. it's just a few minutes drive to another restaurant and we left and ended sitting and waited as soon as we in applebees. we also had a great waitress who knew us and is a real profi. applebees made good money tonight from the lazy of big blues!
Went on a weekend during the day with my wife. Restaurant wasn't busy at all but took a while to just receive drinks and appetizer. Pretzel bites and beer cheese (the appetizer) were absolutely delicious, food had a little delay as well and my pulled chicken sandwich arrive room temp with not nearly enough sauce, side was smoked bbq beans in a tiny little dish/cup similar to what sauce is served in and they were meh (family cookout quality). Wife's blackened white fish tasted good but was a very small serving and not hot either, she also got sweet potato fries but the restaurant insisted on covering them with sugar so they were more like a dessert item than a meal side. After some more sauce, the sandwich was ok at best. Bits of hard grisel and tendon could be found within a few bites and that's never something you like biting into.Overall I'd say between 2-3 stars, long wait times for food when the restaurant was nearly empty, portions arent what you'd expect from a southern bbq joint, room temp meals, stingy on the sauce (granted upon asking for more they did give me the whole bottle). I think it's a good foundation for a bbq joint but it needs some tweaking and fine tuning. I can't recommend it simply because it was just at or below average Remember who your clientele is, you're catering to southern boys here in Kentucky, pile it on there and sauce it up. Also a little more prep on the chicken before pulling, tendons aren't tasty.
My family met here to eat before an event at Alice Lloyd College. There were 16 in our group. We were promptly seated and waited on. Our waiter and the entire staff were fantastic! Everyone’s food was amazing. I cannot say enough great things about this restaurant!
Was in town to watch my son play college baseball wanted to try this place. Do not waste your time or money. Takes forever to get food when we finally got our food it was cold. Super Small portions of food on everything we ordered.!! Will not be back!
Food was wonderful, the best. Service was not great. We was told 10 to 15 minutes which turned into an hour. They need more help and would be a great place to eat.
