The restaurant is located on an isolated location at the end of the wolfsbrunnenweg (which leads to the castle) in schlierbach. the nature in the free restaurant makes the place a great alternative place for those who want to eat in a quiet and peaceful place in heidelberg. when I went there, they were in a holiday season, so they had in a ground flaky cake, which was great. the beer is palm brown, so it is very good.
I have been there several times with my friend Heidrun and her friends some of who live on Wolfsbrunnenweg. It is a wonderful experience which started in 1996 and resumed after the site had extensive renovations, recently. The cool breeze from the forest makes it...an ideal location for outdoor dining and a cool beer. It has been a warm summer and I was there for the whole month of July 15 and left a week later. The food was good and the service was exemplary. The keynote offering was Flammkuchen and as I had been there several times I had all the platters of Flammkuchen rather than eat a traditional pizza.
A very enjoyable lunch salad with shrimp. Pleasant surroundings and staff was very attentive. Nice to be away from the tourist hustle and bustle of Heidelberg.
This restaurant openned in May 2015, after some renovations in the building and the area. I love its location. It is surrounded by woods with a nice pond and a creek. I am sure dining in the restaurant will be nice in cold and rainy...days. However, I love the Biergarten (outdoors). You can enjoy a cold bier, wine or a Radler with your light meal under the trees overlloking small pond. I like their Flammkuchen. My husband's choice is their Schnitzel. He says its the best schnitzel in town!
