Kappen Plambeck - Heiligenhafen

We were late finding somewhere to eat. Most restaurants were already full, so we were happy to get a table. We will return here next time visitinh HH.

The menu, with emphasis on fish, seems pretty all right, but what a disappointment when the food arrives. Very basic, flavourless dishes. The fish was overcooked and probably not very good quality to start with. (Frozen?) Lots of the ingredients seemed readymade. The waitress was friedly however and the outside area nice, so if you go there skip the food and order a beer.

We were visiting Heiligenhafen for the second time in the beginning of May, and we liked it just as much this time as last year. As this time of year is "Spargelzeit", asparagus season, we had a lot of that. The best asparagus we had was at the restaurant Kappen Plambeck situated close to the harbor. The service was a bit slow, but other than that we were very happy with the food. It is a bit of an art to cook white asparagus to perfection, but these guys did just that.

We came for a late lunch. The fish here is very good. 4 out of 5 in our party had Scholle in two different preparations. Moist and well prepared. The Dorsch was also well received.

We ate here with family, a group of 7, and our server was overwhelmed. Food was decent, nothing to brag about.
